Description

Strange cave:
The day was cold with a freezing wind plucking at the snow. There was a black cave looking like the most beautiful thing in the white snow desert. It was small and could give shelter if needed. Karian, a black haired young adult stood up from the cave floor where she slept. The wind outside sounded like a thunder storm about to explode, destroying everything in its path. It’s cold Karian thought and it’s getting colder. She tightened the furs around her and started getting ready for her onward journey. Her travels have been long and difficult, but she came a long way from where she first lived. The days were starting to tire her and in that way taking away her strength.

Before she knew it she was walking the desert just like the day before. She wandered the desert wondering if she’ll ever stop. “Go on, go on. Your almost there,” a silent voice kept telling her and she kept listening even though she did not know why. Time flew like an eagle hunting for its prey. Karian looked up at the sapphire blue sky and imagined an eagle soaring happily in the sky. She closed her eyes and felt the wind blowing her black hair into her face. Her imagination floated away into a dream world where she was flying in the body of an eagle, feeling the wind sliding through her wings.

She woke up from her dream state and looked up when she heard a bird screeching. The sky was clear until she spotted a brown figure flying towards her. It kept looking at her with hazelnut brown eyes that seemed to keep her attention. She stared into the eyes until she realized that it was an eagle. She filled with gladness. It was a great thing to see. While she was lost in her dream world the eagle turned around and flew in the direction she has been following for days. Her energy got more and more when she stood still. She wanted to follow the eagle and after a few seconds she did. Her legs carried her and she felt like flying. She ran faster and faster feeling her muscles working for once in a long time.

After a long time of running she decided to rest. There was a rock nearby and she longed for a place to sit. She went to the rock and sat on it. Nearby the eagle perched on a high dead tree. Somehow the eagle wants her to follow and it’ll wait until she does. She stared at the beautiful creature until her eyes hurt. She gave her eyes a rub and then felt her energy restored. That is strange she thought, but that thought disappeared in a second or two. Her mind wanted to follow the eagle into the unknown and her body obeyed. It wasn’t long before she made a good pace away from the resting rock.

After another few hours of running she started to lose all her energy. The sun was setting and it was about time she had some sleep. The eagle flew around and out of nowhere into a cave. Karian decided to follow. It’ll give some shelter at least. The cave was pitch black with no snow lying on the floor. It is a bit strange, Karian thought. She went deeper into the cave for warmth and before it was warm enough she found an old oil lamp with some oil to spare. There were a few matches lying around so she thought about having a little light. She struck the match on the wall of the cave and brought it near the lamp. It wasn’t long before the lamp took flame and Karian had a little light. She walked even deeper into the cave.

After another few minutes of walking she came at a dead end. The eagle she had forgotten about was perching on an old shovel near the right wall of the cave. Karian walked to the wall that ended the cave to start setting up her shelter. When she came to the wall she saw strange signs. Her fingers were aching so she decided to touch the signs. With the touch of her finger the signs started to light up in a strange light blue colour. It freaked her out. The blue light got stronger and stronger until Karian could see no more. Her cold hands flew up to her face as she tried to hide her eyes from the now blinding blue light. Still it grew stronger and stronger until it went out in a heartbeat. Karian opened her eyes to see if it was safe. Before her was a new tunnel with glowing sides. There was some jewel that seemed to bring forth this glow. For the first time Karian felt the surge for adventure and she wanted to see to where this tunnel led. She started off with a full on run after she blew out her lamp and tucked it in her fur coat. The ground was crooked and a bit wet, but she did not stumble nor fall. She kept on running even though her legs started to ach. At least she grew warmer and warmer by the second.

Time flew and she felt as if this tunnel was going on forever. As fast as the idea popped into her head she saw a light in the distance. That made her run even faster. By now her legs felt like it could break. Finally the light started to grow. First it grew at a slow pace and then at the speed of light. Before she knew it she sprinted into a lighted room with a lot of people. They all looked at her with a look of love as if they expected her. One person, a brown haired male, walked to her and said in a rich deep voice, “Hello dear Karian and welcome to the city of Karneth. I can see you are a bit confused, but no worry. It’ll all come clear in time.” Karian found that she actually like this human, but the strange thing was that he knew her name. “Let me take you to Sarana our healer,” he continued in a casual way. “She’ll make sure you are all right.” He took Karain’s arm and led her to stairs. Before they reached it she took one last glance at the tunnel, but it wasn’t there. Her face took a confused expression and she heard someone giggle. When she looked back at the man she saw him wink or was it just her imagination. This was a strange day indeed.

When she and the man got to the nurse room he looked into her eyes and said, “Here we are.” “Go in and call me if you need me. By the way the name’s Saranth” He smiled and walked away. Karian just stood there and thought how wild his eyes looked even though it had calm aura. They looked free and hazelnut brown. It reminded her of the eagle she spent time with. Then the thought struck her. Where is the eagle she spent time with? That was strange! She turned around and walked into the room where she would meet this Sarana. Maybe the healer could help with this strangeness.

The end

I wanted to post this a long time ago, but I had to finish the story first. Ask me if anything is unclear.

Tell me if anything is wrong with my story. I really want to improve. Thanks.
